QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Using the clear soap will the color look transparent when you add the pigment

    Hello!

Yes it will be transparent, however the more color you add the darker the soap will look!

  • Can I use this to make bars of aloe soap by adding fresh-cut aloe to it?

    Hello,

We do not recommend adding additional liquids to melt and pour soap. We have not tested how they would react. We have tested adding additonal drops of vitamin e as well as actual herbs and powders, but not additional gels or liquids. If you would like to add aloe vera or any other oils besides vitamin e we recommend trying the cold process soap making. You can find videos of this on youtube! If you would like to try adding fresh cut aloe, as a last resort, we recommend doing it at your own risk and in small batches! Please be cautious! Happy making!

  • How many cubes come in the 2lb vs the 20lb?

    Hello,

our 2lb block of soap comes in a spaced out block with 40 lined cubes as an easy guide to cut. Our 20lb block comes in a solid slab without any cutting guidelines. We generally ask customers to weigh their soap before melting for accurate measurments.

    We hope this helped!

  • Is this a low sweat/ no sweat m&p?

All of our melt and pours are rich in glycerin. We find because of this ingredient they are prone to sweat if they are not wrapped. When the soap is left out without being wrapped in a bag/box/shrink wrap it may sweat slightly depending on the environment it is in!

    We hope this helped!

  • What kind of colorant and fragrance

    Hello!

Great question! You can use any kind of fragrance or essential oil that we carry for melt and pour soap! All of our fragrances are approved for general cosmetic use and as far as colorants go we carry liquid colors, micas, and natural colorants that are approved for general cosmetics. You can use any of those 3 listed to color your soap.

Example of a natural colorant would be turmeric powder (turns melt and pour a nice yellow color).
Example of a liquid color would be our Red Liquid Color.
Example of our mica would be our silver blue mica color!

You always want to begin with a tsp of color per lb and adjust from there! When using fragrances you want to calculate about 1% per lb!
