What is our Lotion Base? This Lotion Base is what body lotion, creams, hand lotion, body butter & hand cream is made from. Our wholesale lotion base is a thick paste that contains very little water. Simply blend in warm water to control the thickness of finished product. You’ll be able to make hand lotion, creams, body lotion, body butter & hand cream as thick or as thin as you want. You’ll even be able to make body milks & body mists with this all natural lotion base.

Why use this Lotion Base instead of a Pre-made Blend? Usually, a pre-made wholesale lotion base contains quite a lot of water. Water is heavy – that extra weight means higher shipping costs. Eliminate the water and save on shipping – which means a better profit for your finished hand lotion, hand cream, body butter, face cream & body lotion. This wholesale lotion base is very easy to make.

Is it hard to make the Lotion Base? It’s very easy to make our lotion base. Simply blend hot distilled water with the lotion base using a hand mixer, paddle mixer or kitchen-aide mixer. When you’re satisfied with its consistency, add some fragrance oil, colorant or other ingredients.

Are there Instructions for making the Lotion Base? We send a complete set of instructions every time the lotion base is purchased.  The instructions are only meant to be a guide – be as creative as you want to make your own special blend of hand lotion, hand creams, body lotion, body butters & face cream.

Ask a Question
  • Every time I buy this lotion base, there are so many bubbles after adding the water and mixing that the completed lotion loses 25-30% volume after a day or so. I’ve used the hand mixer mostly. I’ve used very hot water to just warm.

    Hello,

We thank you for trying our lotion base out! Yes, When you whip the lotion a lot you will get air bubbles. We recommend letting your base sit in a container over the course a day or two, inside of a cooled area, To allow the air bubbles to settle. Once the lotion has settled feel free to package as desired. Please do not use water warmer than 150 degrees F'. IF your water is too hot you will burn out the preservative that's already incorporated into your base. Like many things you may need to find your technique when using our concentrated bases, but once you do you will be delighted. We hope this helped.

  • What is the shelf life considering its Paraban Free? Does this mean there is no preservatives?

    Hello,

All of our lotion bases are paraben free. All of our lotion bases do have preservatives with the exception of the Lotion base with rosemary! This base does not contain a preservative, it contains rosemary extract as a natural preservative. The shelf life for our regular bases is 2 years. The rosemary base will have a shelf life of a year to a year and a half!

We hope this information helped! Thank you.

  • Can butters such as mango, coco or olive butter be added? Are there any fragrances you would recommend not adding.

    Hello,

We generally do not recommend adding additional additives to our lotion bases. The only products we have added to our lotion is distilled water, fragrance and essential oil, vitamin e, as well as cbd. If you would like to test adding additional products to our lotion bases, we cannot gurantee an outcome, but we do recommend testing in small batches that way you won't interrupt the whole tub of lotion. All of our fragrances and essential oils work well with our bases! Anything with vanilla may turn the lotion a slight tan color but that is a normal reaction!

    We hope this helped!

  • Can I mix it with vitamins like A or E. Also I want to make a wrinkle cream but I want to used with fresh cucumber and aloe what you think because I need to warm the cream is this possible? Or not?

    Hello!

We do not advise modifying the lotion base concentrate. We cannot gurantee the outcome of the lotion so please be cautious. We do allow small portions of oils to be added additionally to the lotion base like the vitamin A and E oil those would be good examples of oils you can add to your base at small amounts. BUT we do not advise whatsoever to add cucumber or aloe to this lotion base. Adding water based plants may not be the best idea for this base. There is a high risk of mold or bacteria developing. If it is an oil be sure to use small amounts.

    We hope this helps!

    Thank you!

  • Would this base work if we added hemp oil and essential oils?

    Kristen,

We do not recommend you modifying the lotion base with other oils besides essential oils or fragrances. It’s okay to add scent to the base and of course your distilled water.
You can try it but we can Not guarantee the results.

  • What happened to the lotion base without SOY?

    Hello Kathy,

The Lotion Base Soy Free has been discontinued. Our team has determined that it was the least popular lotion base we carried, thus resulting in its discontinuation.
