Patchouli can be described foremost as highly intense and sweet in its aroma, along with its spicy, earthy, slightly smoky, musky combination. The intensity can be buffered with blending, as Patchouli can modify and enhance some other essential oils. It has a thick consistency, and like vetiver and sandalwood, it does improve with age.

Blending Suggestions: Surprisingly, for such an intense scent, it can be blended well with quite a number of other oils. For example, cedarwood, clary sage, orange, rose, lemongrass, black pepper and cinnamon. It even blends well with other heavy scents like sandalwood, myrrh, jasmine and vetiver.
Avoid using while pregnant, women should consult their physician before using any essential oil.
